The Laing's Planetarium (circa 1890s) is a teaching model planetarium, or tellurian, comprised of four operating spheres representing the Earth, Venus, Sun and Moon. A tellurian is a scientific instrument related to an orrery that shows the reasons for seasons, eclipses, day and night, and other principles of astronomy.
